Anastasiia Bordunova
Hey, my name is Anastasiia, and I live in Cork, Ireland. I have an artistic education in cinema, which has provided an excellent foundation for my work in various fields, including filmmaking, illustration, academic art, design, 3D modeling, concept art, and organizing teams on set.

3D Design and Concept Art

I approach 3D as a natural extension of my cinematic background — a way to shape atmosphere, refine storytelling, and explore visual ideas from new angles.
I primarily work in Blender, Substance Painter, and Marvelous Designer. My skills include modeling (subdivision-ready), sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, rigging, skinning, basic animation, texture painting, and simulation (cloth, particles, hair, and physical effects like water and rigid bodies).
While most professional work is under NDA, personal projects reflect my creative style — rooted in surreal imagery, metaphor, and fairy-tale elements woven into familiar forms, with nostalgic and memory-driven touches. This spirit can be seen across the work shared here.

A series of 3D illustrations created for a progressive brand that explores themes of emotional closeness, body awareness, and conscious communication. The visuals were designed for both their main platform and a sub-brand focused on parenthood and self-rediscovery after life transitions.

One part of the series was developed for a dialogue-based card game aimed at helping parents reconnect with themselves and their partners through playful reflection. The project closely followed the brand’s visual identity — soft and expressive color palettes, emotionally resonant forms, and carefully balanced symbolism — to reflect their values and products without being overly literal.

I sought to translate not only their aesthetic but also their

purpose: inviting deeper dialogue and normalizing openness in a visually warm and modern way.

This visual concept was created in collaboration with a fashion designer specializing in tenniswear. My task was to translate the designer’s sketches and print ideas into expressive 3D imagery with a dynamic and elevated feel.

My responsibilities included modeling a digital double of the brand’s founder, sculpting facial details, creating hair, rigging and posing, simulating garments in Marvelous Designer based on the original sewing patterns, and building the environment with custom lighting and material setups. I also handled liquid simulation, animation of the camera, and composition of the final scene.

The result is a stylized yet realistic visualization that bridges the world of fashion prototyping and motion storytelling — blending movement, style, and a sense of identity into one unified frame.

Personal projects and visual experiments

Illustrations
For a certain period, I focused on illustration. This included NFT projects, tattoo designs, postcards and graphic images, both vector and raster.
Cinematography
Cinema is a world where one explores new realms embedded within the text. The role of an artist in cinema is vast: they design the stylistics appropriate to the film's era, draw storyboards and set sketches, realize the sketches, participate in set construction, while simultaneously organizing people and managing budgets. It's a very interesting and multifaceted world.

Here are movie sketches based on a book by a Georgian writer about the Argonauts. They were done by hand using watercolor.

Photos of sets from several projects are included.
A crucial part of organizing the filming process is storyboarding, which is also the responsibility of the production designer.
I'm always looking forward to new opportunities, collaborations and interesting projects, so contact me if you got any.
